The actions began when the Benemérita Citizen Security Prevention officers were alerted that an owl had been hooked to the perimeter fence of a farm in the municipality of Ulea. The civil guards quickly moved to the indicated place and verified the facts on the spot.

At the top of a metal fence they observed an eagle owl (Bubo bubo) wounded and immobilized on the metal fence. The civil guards immobilized the eagle owl, in order to prevent further injury, and took it down from the mesh after cutting the wires that pierced one of its wings. The raptor, cataloged of special interest in the catalog of threatened species, had lesions on one wing, area of ??the beak, face and legs, apparently produced by the collision with the metal fence and subsequent movements to try to free itself when hanging from it.

After the rescue, the civil guards coordinated with environmental agents of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia (CARM), who took care of the eagle owl, which was finally delivered to the Fauna Recovery Center "El Valle" for its recovery and reintegration into the natural environment.
