Ulea will have a local police force when complying with the Local Police Coordination Law (05/08/2020)

The director general of Citizen Security and Emergencies, Antonio Luis Mula, met today with the mayor of Ulea, Víctor Manuel López, at the town hall, to advance the procedures that allow the municipality of the Valle de Ricote region to count with its own local police force. One of the measures included in the Local Police Coordination Law, which came into force on October 6 of last year, is to encourage the creation of the Local Police force in municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants.

In them it is necessary that they have a minimum number of two officers and a deputy inspector, compared to the five members that were previously required. The director general indicated that “after more than 20 years of validity of the previous law, the new regulations allow the Region of Murcia to adapt to the social and police reality.

From the regional government, we intend that all municipalities, including those with a smaller population, which do not yet have a local police force such as Ricote, Aledo and Ojós, can do so in the near future to guarantee the citizen security of their inhabitants, whatever be your place of residence.
